Where the Hell is Matt?
Not only do I not know where the hell Matt is, I don’t even know who the hell Matt is. There are only two things I do know about Matt: 1)The guy has some mad awful dancing skills and 2)he is one of the luckiest people I’ve ever heard of. Matt has been everywhere, and honestly, that’s not much of an exaggeration. He’s actually been on the Vomit Comet, for crying out loud! But besides being lucky, he’s incredibly creative and talented as well. I first came across this video a couple of months ago and am just now getting around to blogging about it. The concept behind this video is, in and of itself, pure genius. Add to that the incredible choice of music (available on iTunes, BTW), and this has to be one of the most inspirational videos of all time. If you don’t have a smile on your face and tears in your eyes by the time this video is done, you’re probably a Republican.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t embed it in HD here. If you’d like to see it in all its HD glory, please do so at Vimeo.com. You really should. This isn’t the first “Dancing” video Matt has made. He’s actually been doing it for several years and you can see the other videos at Vimeo.com, as well, or at Matt’s website, www.wherethehellismatt.com.
I have to say that this video (and the accompanying music) do an incredible job of showing just how large and how small our world is all at the same time. Simply incredible.
Matt, should you ever read this, please take me with you on your next “Dancing” adventure. I’ll carry all your shit for the whole trip.

Civil War 2008 – The Movie.
The Oregon Ducks blasted the Oregon State Beavers, 65-38, in the 112th Civil War football game, effectively knocking OSU out of the Rose Bowl and sending Oregon to the Holiday Bowl. My son and I must have thrown 500 passes back and forth with his little football throughout the game. We were so excited by the end (his excitement mainly coming from seeing his dad out of his mind ecstatic!), that we decided to take our first step into the world of YouTube:
I enjoyed making this video so much that I’m officially revising my Christmas wish list to include an HD video camera. Something like this would be nice. Santa, are you listening?

Incredible Flash experience.
Auditorium is a beautiful, well-designed Flash game. Before you lose interest, I feel I should mention that I feel calling it a “game” sells it short. It’s more of an experience. Completely immersive. Both challenging and soothing at the same time. Full screen mode definitely enhances the experience. It combines musical elements, smooth and flowing graphics and a fair bit of mental challenge to draw you in and keep you engaged for a great deal of time.

It is very exciting for me to see projects like this taking shape on the Internet. Kudos to the creators for their design and creativity!

Give the gift of giving this holiday season.
I absolutely love the holiday season. I’ll admit it right up front…I’m a big softie. I get all choked up at what many would call the most cheesy, stupid things when it comes to the holiday spirit. I’m not really a religious person, but that song, “The Christmas Shoes,” reduced me to tears the first time I heard it. My absolute favorite part of the holiday season, though, is giving. Giving gifts, giving money, giving time, it doesn’t matter. Seeing the looks on people’s faces when you give is an incredible feeling and one I wish more people would choose to experience more often.
Giving is something that needs to happen year-round, but because most people associate it with the holidays, or when the weather is particularly nasty outside, I figured this was as good a time as any to pass along word of this incredible effort. Network for Good is selling Good Cards. These gift cards, available in amounts up to $250, allow recipients to donate to one or more of their favorite charities. Network for Good currently has 1.5 million charities on their list, so the odds are better than good that everyone’s favorite organizations are available to donate to.
I see this as a perfect gift for the person who already has more than they want/need/could ask for, yet who you still want to buy a special gift for.

Where is your username registered?
This is a very cool (and fast) way to check to see where your favorite usernames are registered and/or available. This website features a simple search box allowing you to enter any username and then search dozens of popular websites (68 currently, with more coming soon) to check on its availability.
If the username is registered, the word “taken” links directly to that user’s page or profile at the website. If it happens to be available, the word “available” links right to the registration/sign-up page, making it extremely easy to sign-up for an account with your desired username. Talk about easy.
